DELHI, N.Y. — Akhe McMichael recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds as UMaine-Presque Isle defeated the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team 81-57 in a North Atlantic Conference contest Friday at Floyd L. Maines Arena.
The Broncos (7-18, 5-9 NAC) trailed 41-26 at halftime and shot 33.9 percent (19-of-56) from the field, including 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from 3-point range. Delhi forced seven turnovers from the Owls (10-12, 8-7 NAC), scoring 5 points off them, but was outrebounded 33-29.
Abdul-Jaleel Ibrahim led SUNY Delhi with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting, adding three assists. Adan Madera contributed 13 points and four rebounds, while Jason Tagios had nine points and nine boards.
Doug McCalla scored 20 points for the Owls, and James Yamashita added five points and two assists off the bench.
Delhi fell to 7-18 overall and 5-9 in conference play. The Broncos return to action tomorrow celebrating seniors Jason Tagios and Noah Colin against Husson, with the ceremony scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and tip-off at 1 p.m.
