LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Kai Harvey scored 33 points and Abdul-Jaleel Ibrahim added 19 as the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team defeated VTSU Lyndon 97-90 in a North Atlantic Conference game Friday at George W. Stannard Gymnasium.
The Broncos (6-15, 5-8 NAC) led 49-45 at halftime and shot 45.6 percent (36-of-79) from the field, including 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from 3-point range. Delhi forced 25 turnovers from the Hornets (5-16, 3-10 NAC), converting them into 34 points, and recorded 17 steals.
Adan Madera contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds for SUNY Delhi, while Giovanni Germain added five points off the bench. The Broncos outscored VTSU Lyndon 56-52 in the paint.
Gregory Gonyea Jr. led the Hornets with 27 points, and Wesley McIntyre scored 15. Matt Doyle had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Delhi improved to 6-15 overall and 5-8 in conference play. The Broncos return to action at 1 p.m. tomorrow at VTSU Johnson, closing out their Vermont trip.
