CASTINE, MAINE - The Delhi Broncos Men's Basketball team (0-4, 0-1 NAC) fell in their conference opener at Maine Maritime, 94-83, Friday evening.
Giovanni Germain had a huge performance for the Broncos, scoring a season team-high of 23 points on 9-16 shooting and no three-pointers attempted in 22 minutes off the bench. Abdul Jaleel-Ibrahim followed up his 18-point night at Misericordia Tuesday with a 16-point game tonight, and Kai Harvey scored 13 points on 4-7 shooting in his first start. Noah Colin added eight assists to zero turnovers in a team-high 33 minutes.
The duo of Jack Banks and Drew Hamilton exploded for a combined 59 points, each shooting greater than 50 percent from the field to lead the Mariners. Aaron Pensel added an 18-point double-double for a MMA squad who got just five points out of their bench.
The Broncos have a quick turnaround, wrapping up their Maine trip with a conference game at UMaine - Farmington.
