Broncos Power Past Vermont State Johnson in 88–72 Home Victory
DELHI, N.Y. – The SUNY Delhi Men's Basketball Team (2-5 overall, 1-2 NAC) put together an all-around great performance on both ends of the floor, earning an impressive 88–72 home win over NAC opponent Vermont State Johnson on Wednesday night. The Broncos controlled the pace from the opening tip, shooting efficiently, rebounding, and capitalizing on standout guard play to secure the victory. Delhi shot 45.6% from the field, knocked down 11 threes, and outrebounded the Badgers 50–41, setting the tone throughout the night.

The Broncos early energy immediately ignited the home crowd, erupting for 49 first-half points while shooting an impressive 46.2% from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard Abdul-Jaleel Ibrahim was electric from the jump, and his ability to score at all three levels stretched the Badgers defense and opened opportunities for teammates. Ibrahim poured in 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting, anothing strong outing after dropping 30 points in their last game against Hamilton College. He shot a red-hot 7-for-13 from deep giving Delhi firm control as they entered halftime up double digits.

First year guard Kai Harvey quarterbacked the offense, finishing with 18 points on efficient shooting (6-of-13), while also dishing out a game-high eight assists and recording four steals. His defensive activity repeatedly disrupted the Badgers rhythm in the backcourt. Sophomore forward Adan Madera made a major impact inside tallying 14 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Madera dominated down the stretch finishing around the rim and attacking glass during extended stretches.

Senior forward Jason Tagios had an impressive night as well notching a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double, anchoring the paint on both ends and helping Delhi limit Vermont State Johnson to one-shot possessions. His eight defensive rebounds were a major contributor to Delhi controlling tempo throughout the contest. While the first half showcased Delhi's offense, the second half highlighted the team's defensive discipline. The hosts held Vermont State Johnson to just 26.3% from the field in the second frame, including 7.1% from three.

For Vermont State Johnson, Mohammed Semega led the way with 22 points, while guard Joseph Gargiulo added 16. Despite a strong first-half shooting performance, the Badgers struggled to sustain offense in the second, finishing the game at 34.8% from the field and 16.7% from three.

The Broncos will have a short turnaround facing Vermont State University of Lyndon on December 6th at 1:00pm for another home game at Floyd L. Maines Arena, where the Broncos will look to improve to .500 in conference play.
