Women's Volleyball Loses Season Opener Against St. Lawrence

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Delhi Broncos Women's Volleyball team lost the first match of their 2025 campaign Saturday, Aug. 30th, dropping three consecutive sets to St. Lawrence at Plattsburgh's Cardinal Classic.

Junior transfer Kayla Nuss made an immediate impact for the Broncos, leading the team offensively with eight kills. Junior Noelle Placanica and senior Audrey Logsdon tallied nine and eight digs respectively for the Broncos, and Placanica also managed four kills. Araiza Acum-Santos headed the St. Lawrence attack, notching 10 kills for the Saints and Cassady Smith led all players in digs, keeping the ball alive for the Saints 11 times.

The Broncos take on Potsdam at 3 p.m. in match two of the Cardinal Classic, before traveling to Oneonta Wednesday, Sep. 3rd for a 6 p.m. contest. Delhi will face Canton and Farmingdale St. at Clark Field House Saturday, Sep. 6th, for a home opening tri-match starting at 11 a.m.
