Women's Basketball Struggles With Conference Foe Cobleskill

DELHI, N.Y. — Hannah Bonczkowski scored 17 points off the bench as SUNY Cobleskill defeated the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team 71-37 in a North Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday at Floyd L. Maines Arena.

The Broncos (3-16, 2-10 NAC) trailed 33-16 at halftime and shot 27.6 percent (16-of-58) from the field against the Tigers (8-9, 6-6 NAC), who hit 37.7 percent (26-of-69) overall and 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from 3-point range.

Mya Aiken led SUNY Delhi with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting, adding two steals. Sarah Gaetano contributed nine points and five assists, while Aniyah Boston grabbed seven rebounds.

The Broncos forced 16 Cobleskill turnovers, scoring 10 points off them, but were outrebounded 51-32.

Jaiyla Colon added 14 points and eight rebounds for Cobleskill, and Alyssa Martin scored nine points.

Delhi fell to 3-16 overall and 2-10 in conference play. The Broncos are back in action with a weekend trip to Vermont, matching up with VTSU Lyndon Friday and returning to Head Coach Rasul Jackson's alma mater, VTSU Johnson, on Saturday.
