The track and field programs traveled to Cornell University for a tune up heading into next week's SUNYAC Championships.
Highlighting the performances turned in was an event win from Richard Fuller in the 400 meter dash with a strong time of 50.25 seconds. Another highlight came from Jabez Primus who ran under seven secinds for the first time in the 60 dash with a 6.99 in the prelims and then again in the finals to place fifth overall. That time is number six in program history and bodes well for Primus moving into the championship portion of the season. Teammate Cristhian Cuveas also posted a strong performance in the 200 meter dash placing third with a 22.46 second clocking. Cuevas just edged out teammate Marvin Markland who ran the same time in placing fourth. Peair Industrious and Christpher Jean Simon placed third and fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with respective times of 8.47 and 8.56 seconds.
For the women, Kapriece Sigler showed good fitness when she ran a new lifetime best in the 200 meter dash posting a time of 27.16 seconds as well as a new best in the 60 meter hurdles running 9.49 seconds. First year Katrina Winters posted a new best in the 400 meters with a time of 1:05.85. Finally, Emma Pelkey posted a solid personal best in the shot put with a toss of 10.44 meters as she prepares for the Pentathlon at the SUNYAC Championships.
Next up for the Broncos is a trip to the SUNYAC Championships being held at Brockport next Friday and Saturday.
