Ithaca, NY - The SUNY Delhi Track & Field Programs traveled to Ithaca College this weekend for a highly competitive meet. Two more program records fell over the course of the day while many others had great mid-season performances.
Both school records came from the women's distance crew. Sophomore Amanda Intrieri ran in an 800 meter race at Cornell University just next door where she placed second overall in an impressive 2:14.46. That shatters the program record set last year by Intrieri of 2:17.69. This impressive time ranks her as the seventh fastest time in NCAA Division III for the year at this time. The second record to fall came from sophomore Charlotte Warner, who also broke her own mark from last year in the 3,000 meter run. Warner won the race to the line with a time of 10:25.20, a solid seven seconds ahead of second place and more than five seconds ahead of her program record time of 10:30.38.
Other strong performances on the women's side came from a pair of relay teams. Shaesha Johnson, Gabrielle Brown, Kapriece Sigler and Miranda Cole combined to finish first in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:45.32, running less than a half second off the school record. Very strong splits came from Shaesha Johnson (25.7) and Miranda Cole (25.2). The 4x400 relay team of Gabrielle Brown, Miranda Cole, Amanda Intrieri and Zoe Rodi also posted a third place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 4:09.08.
The top perfomance on the men's side came from Elliott Kish in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds to finish in second place overall. Othe strong showings came from Neklor Smith who finshed fifth in the 400 meters (50.14) and Michale Lilly who finished sixth in the 5,000 meters with a new lifetime best (16:01.52). As the women did, the men also showed up for the relays. The men's 4x200 meter relay team of Leonardo Ballentine, Peair Industrious, Chamar Gordon and Cristhian Cuevas ran 1:30.17 to place third overall. In the men's 4x400 relay, the Broncos took the top spot with the team of Ibrahim Fofana, Neklor Smith, Cristhian Cuevas and Richard Fuller with a time of 3:24.36. Fuller led the way posting a split of 49.37 seconds.
