Women's Soccer Battles Hard Against Husson

DELHI, N.Y. - The SUNY Delhi Women's Soccer team showed grit in a tightly contested 2-1 loss to Husson University on Sunday afternoon at Neil Riddell Field.

The Broncos (3-9-2, 1-4-1 NAC) refused to back down after conceding two early goals in the eighth and 11th minutes. Madison Thorbourne provided the Broncos hope, scoring in the 17th minute to cut the deficit to one with a long range goal.

From there, Delhi's defense and goalkeeper Morgan Krouse held down the fort, keeping Husson off the board for the final 80 minutes. Krouse turned away nine shots in another strong performance on the year, anchoring a back line that absorbed heavy pressure while keeping the game within reach.

The Broncos nearly found an equalizer late, generating multiple chances but were ultimately unable to find the back of the Eagles' net. The Broncos are back in action at home Oct. 18th and 19th for home NAC matches against VTSU Johnson and VTSU Lyndon.
