CASTINE, Maine - The Delhi Broncos Women's Soccer team finished off their opening weekend of conference play with a 3-1 defeat at Maine Maritime Academy. With the loss the Broncos fall to 1-5 on the season, and 0-2 in North Atlantic Conference play.

Delhi opened the scoring in the third minute, as a long ball from juior Ava Britsch found sophomore Madison Thorbourne at the 18-yard box, who then found senior Kailey Leach who gave the Broncos the lead. Abby Wong equalized in the 25th minute for the Mariners, and Sophia Hernandez and Natalie Orr goals in the 53rd and 88th minutes to put the game out of Delhi's reach.

First year Goalkeeper Morgan Krouse recorded seven saves for the Broncos, and Wong and Tarin Barrett each notched an assist for the Mariners. The Broncos take on Morrisville State at home Thursday, Sept 18th at 5:00 p.m. before a trip to Hilbert kicks off a five-game road stretch.
