Broncos Fall to Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Delhi Broncos Men's Lacrosse team (1-2, 0-0 NAC) dropped a non-conference matchup 21-7 at Oneonta (2-2, 0-0 SUNYAC) on Wednesday after the game was delayed from it's original Tuesday date.

The Broncos had a late surge in the first to enter the second period within striking distance but the Red Dragons went on an 8-1 run to end the half, and headed to the locker room with a 13-4 lead. Another one-score frame in the third from Delhi put the game well out of reach, resulting in both teams emptying their benches in the final quarter.

The trio of Thomas Hnis (five goals, two assists), Jamie O'Neil (four goals, five assists) and Ryan Royals (three goals) combined for 19 points to lead the Oneonta offense, and starting goaltender Mark Restivo turned away eight of the 14 shots he faced in 51:22 of action.

Jesse Hagen had three goals on five shots as Delhi's leading scorer, with Anthony McLaughlin scoring a pair and Kyle Moore tallied two assists in the loss. Jayden Messina recorded 15 saves on 34 shots faced, and Stephen Lichinsky added a save and two goals against in 4:35.

The Broncos are back at home to host Morrisville State Friday, March 6th at 4 p.m.
