Broncos Compete at Vassar College Invitational
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — The SUNY Delhi men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Vassar College Invitational Saturday, facing Vassar, Hartwick, Skidmore, Mount Holyoke and Bard. The Broncos outscored Bard in both team standings, with the men's team earning 65 points to Bard's 39 and the women's team tallying 4 points to Bard's 1.
The men's 200-yard medley relay team of Joel Reece, Isaiah Eckman, Robert Armstrong and Jed Sanikidze finished sixth with a time of 1:52.82.
Freshman Robert Armstrong finished sixth in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.67. Armstrong also placed ninth in the 400-yard individual medley (four lengths of each competitive stroke) with a time of 4:59.58 and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.82, dropping 0.20 seconds from his season best.
Freshman Seamus Scott placed ninth in the 500-yard freestyle (20 lengths of the pool) with a time of 6:48.19. Scott finished 15th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 31.29 and 13th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:34.00.
Sophomore Isaiah Eckman finished 11th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.23 and 12th in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.18. Eckman also swam an exhibition in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.23, dropping 0.76 seconds from his season best.
Freshman Isaiah Lendeborg placed 10th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 9:54.53, smashing his personal best by more than 24.91 seconds. Lendeborg finished 16th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 43.89 and 14th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 3:43.85.
Team captain Emalyn Kulp finished ninth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 39.40 and 27th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 32.57.
Joel Reece placed 14th in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 33.20 and 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.61, dropping 1.09 seconds from his season best.
Jed Sanikidze finished 12th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.26 and 11th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.57.
Olivia McPeek placed 24th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:14.44, improving by 0.06 seconds. McPeek finished 16th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:34.04 and 28th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 34.27.
The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team A of Joel Reece, Seamus Scott, Jed Sanikidze and anchored by Isaiah Eckman finished seventh with a time of 1:47.70.
The Broncos also swam an exhibition in the mixed 200-yard medley relay with Olivia McPeek, Emalyn Kulp, Robert Armstrong and anchored by Isaiah Lendeborg, posting a time of 2:32.57.
Delhi returns to action at the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championship from Feb. 18-21, 2026, at Erie Community College's Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y. This marks the Broncos' first appearance in the SUNYAC Champioships since joining the conference ofr the 2025-26 season.
