Swimming and Diving Hosts John Jay and Herkimer Community College

DELHI, N.Y. - On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the SUNY Delhi Broncos swimming and diving team held the SUNY Delhi Spring Invitational. SUNY Delhi participated along with John Jay College and Herkimer County Community College at the Kunsela Hall Aquatic Center on the campus of SUNY Delhi.

The men's 200-yard medley relay team of Joel Reece, Isaiah Eckman, Robert Armstrong and Jed Sanikidze finished first with a time of 1:55.84.

Freshman Seamus Scott finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle, which is 40 lengths of the swimming pool, with a time of 13:53.91, dropping a whopping 10.96 seconds from his season best. Scott also finished first in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 40.46. Finally, he finished second in the 500-yard freestyle, which is 20 lengths of the swimming pool, with a time of 7:04.80.

Sophomore Isaiah Eckman finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.99, improving his time by 0.52 seconds. Eckman also finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.04, dropping 0.24 seconds from his personal best.

Freshman Robert Armstrong finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.08, dropping 0.04 seconds from his season best. Armstrong also finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.91. He also finished first in the 500-yard freestyle (20 lengths of the pool) with a time of 5:44.81.

Vlademir Olenski finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.16. Olenski also finished first in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 32.47, dropping 0.61 seconds.

Freshman Isaiah Lendeborg finished third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 10:19.44, smashing his personal best by dropping more than 43.05 seconds. Lendeborg also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.44, dropping more than 4.44 seconds from his personal best. He also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 3:50.65.

Joel Reece finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.25, dropping 0.06 seconds from his season best. Reece also finished second in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 33.31.

Jed Sanikidze finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.84. Sanikidze also had a personal best in the 50-yard freestyle of 25.25, improving his time by 0.69 seconds and finishing second.

Olivia McPeek finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:14.50, improving her time by 1.19 seconds. McPeek's time in the 50-yard backstroke was 40.57. Her time in the 50-yard freestyle was 32.28.

Team captain Sarthak Thapa finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:17.98. Thapa also finished third in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 34.92. Finally, he finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 33.78, improving his best by 3.32 seconds.

Freshman Ayden Geiger finished second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 44.96. Geiger also improved his time in the 50-yard freestyle by 1.45 seconds with a new personal best of 38.38, finishing in fourth place.

The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team A of Vlademir Olenski, Jed Sanikidze, Isaiah Eckman and anchored by Joel Reece finished first with a time of 1:42.83.

The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team B of Seamus Scott, Sarthak Thapa, Ayden Geiger and anchored by Isaiah Lendeborg finished second with a time of 2:28.53.

The Broncos' next swimming and diving meet will be at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1 p.m.
