DELHI, N.Y. — The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team dropped a home doubleheader to Norwich on Saturday, falling 4-3 in both the Empire 8 conference opener and a non-conference rematch to close out the day.

Delhi was competitive in both matches but couldn't overcome Norwich's dominance at the top of the lineup. The Cadets swept all three doubles courts in game one to claim the opening point, and Jaxson Redmond set the tone at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Benjamin Andersen. Delhi answered with three singles wins of its own as Nicholas VanHouten took No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory, Devin Guerrieri won No. 4 in three sets, and Luke Moloney took No. 5 in three sets, but it wasn't enough to overcome the doubles deficit.

Game two followed a similar script. Norwich again built a doubles advantage, winning two of three courts, before Redmond and Terrance Bayly-Henshaw both won quickly at the top of singles to swing momentum. Delhi's points came from Guerrieri at No. 3 and Moloney at No. 4, both winning three-set battles, but Norwich clinched the match with wins at No. 5 and No. 6.

The Broncos return to action Saturday at Thomas College.
