DELHI, N.Y. — The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches Saturday, sweeping a home doubleheader against Vermont State Johnson by scores of 7-0 and 6-1.
Delhi was dominant in the morning, taking all three doubles courts before winning all six singles matches. Nicholas VanHouten highlighted the singles action with a three-set victory at No. 1, rallying past Jack Senecal 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 in a hard-fought tiebreaker. Nolan Kleinasser, Devin Guerrieri, Benjamin Andersen, Luke Moloney, and Gavin Bonczkowski each won in straight sets to complete the clean sweep.
The afternoon was more of the same, with Delhi again sweeping doubles before winning five of six singles positions. Guerrieri, Kleinasser, VanHouten, Andersen, and Isaiah Eckman all won in straight sets. Senecal claimed the Badgers' lone point at No. 1 singles, defeating Moloney in two sets.
The Broncos improve to 4-3 on the season and are back in action April 4th at home against Norwich, where they will be honoring their seniors.
