Broncos Close Out Season With First NCAA Championship Appearance

Daniels, Tecchio, Souva, Glennon, and Swartz pose together at the NCAA Championship
The Broncos clinched their first NCAA Championship appearance in the Fall, winning their third NAC Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — SUNY Delhi made the first NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship appearance in program history this week, and the Broncos' debut ended at the 36-hole cut. Delhi finished at 644 (+72), outside the top 18 teams that advanced to the final two rounds.

The Broncos posted a 325 (+37) on the El Campeon course in a first round disrupted by heavy rain, then improved to a 319 (+35) on Las Colinas in the second round. The two-day total left Delhi tied with UW-Superior.

John Souva led the Broncos at 160 (+17), backing an opening 82 with a 78 that was the lowest round any Delhi player posted in the championship. Matthew Daniels finished at 161 (+18) on rounds of 82 and 79. Grady Glennon, a two-time NAC medalist, did not find the form that carried him through the conference season and came in at 162 (+19) after a first-round 80 and a second-round 82. Ben Swartz carded 163 (+20), and Jonathan Tecchio closed with an 80, his best round of the championship, to finish at 165 (+22).

Delhi earned its place in the 43-team field by winning its third North Atlantic Conference title in the fall. The championship closed the Broncos' 2025-26 season.
