Northfield, VT - The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team's playoff campaign was underway this weekend, taking on the Cadets of Norwich. It would be a battle of familiar faces, with both sides having gone head-to-head earlier in the season that saw the Cadets getting the best of the Broncos. Delhi would finish the regular season 3-2 in conference play, enough to earn themselves the third seed in the east division, clinching a spot in the Empire 8 playoffs.
In the first meeting between the two sides, the Broncos lone point would come from a doubles victory. This time around, Norwich would record the clean sweep in the doubles portion and take an early 3-0 lead. The Cadets would ride that momentum into the singles portion of the contest, winning five of the six singles matches that followed. Nolan Kleinsasser would claim the only Broncos victory on the day with a commanding (6-2, 6-3) victory.
Norwich would cruise to an 8-1 victory as the Broncos finish the season with a 4-7 record and will shift their attention to next season.
