Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team was back in action Saturday afternoon, looking to extend their conference win streak to three games. The Terriers of Thomas would enter play undefeated in conference play with a 2-0 record.
Thomas would strike first just over two minutes into the contest, as Timothy Worster would give the Terriers a quick 1-0 lead. It wouldn't take long for the Broncos to respond, turning to top goal scorer Jagger Beachak to tie the contest at one apiece. The trend would continue for the entirety of the first quarter that saw a back-and-forth contest. Chris Lazazzaro and Benjamin Moscatiello would lead the way, each adding two goals of their own in the quarter. Delhi would finish the first with a narrow 6-4 lead. The Broncos would ride that momentum into the second quarter as the squad would go on to score 20 unanswered goals stretching through the majority of the third quarter. Before you knew it the Broncos had broke the game wide open, finding themselves ahead 24-5 entering the final quarter of play. In the end, the Broncos would cruise to a commanding 25-9 victory over the Terriers.
Delhi's top performers included Chris Lazazzaro, totaling 5 goals to go along with 4 assists; Benjamin Moscatiello, adding 3 goals with an assist; and Jagger Beachak, posting 3 goals with 4 assists. Nick Allen would once again anchor an impressive Delhi defense, recording 8 caused turnovers, 7 ground balls, and 2 assists. The Broncos improve to 8-4 on the season, 3-1 in conference play, and will return to action Wednesday for an away contest against Morrisville.
