Women's Basketball Falls at Husson

BANGOR, MAINE - The Delhi Broncos Women's Basketball team (1-11, 0-6 NAC)  struggled on both ends of the floor Monday, losing at Husson (5-5, 5-1 NAC) 89-40.

The Broncos received strong performances from the bench, with only 12 of the team's 40 points coming from the starting unit. Gianna Schmidt was the only starter to record double-digits, going 5-6 from the field en route to her 10 points. Mya Aiken continued her strong start to her first-year campaign, tallying a team-high 12 points in 24 minutes off the bench. The team saw it's first minutes of the season from Alani Brock, who is returning to the court this semester, as well as Junior transfer Aniyah Boston. Brock tallied 10 points in her return on 5-8 shooting, and Boston pitched in a basket and five rebounds.

The tandem of Saige Evans and Lilly Roy combined for 40 points for the Eagles, with Sophia Carnes pumping in 12 off the bench. All in all it was a balanced scoring performance from the hosts, with 12 different Eagles recording a basket made.

The Broncos finish their road trip at UMPI Tuesday, Jan. 6th at 3:00 p.m.
