NORTH ADAMS, MASS. - The Delhi Broncos Women's Basketball (1-6, 0-2 NAC) emerged victorious for the first time this season on Monday night, squeaking out a 58-45 win in a non-conference matchup at MCLA.
The Broncos once again fell behind early, trailing 14-12 after the first quarter. Things turned around after a five-point second frame from the hosts gave Delhi the lead heading into the half for the first time on the year. Coming out of the break the Broncos maintained the momentum, outscoring MCLA in the third and fourth quarters to secure the second victory of Head Coach Rasul Jackson's tenure.
It was a balanced scoring effort for Delhi as Alexandra Reuss, Sarah Gaetano and Juanita Guzman all recorded double-digits performances, with \Guzman's efforts coming off of the bench. First year guard Sarah Gaetano went 8-9 from the charity stripe en route to her 12 points, and Gianna Schmidt hauled in 12 rebounds in the win. Abigail Scialabba and Hailey Peabody combined for 27 points for the Trailblazers, and Amare Williams contributed six points and 12 rebounds.
The victory marks the first for the Broncos since Dec. 4th, 2023, highlighting the progress Coach Jackson has spearheaded from the helm of the program.
