Zachary Cole is a native of Baldwinsville, NY. He graduated in 2021 and comes from a close-knit family consisting of his mother, Marcy, his older brother, Jarred , and younger sister Katelynn. He started his collegiate lacrosse career at Monroe Community College, where he quickly became a leader and solidified himself as the anchor on the back end of the defensive unit. A two-time team captain, he earned the respect of his teammates with his hard work, communication skills, and overall knowledge of the game.

During his two years with the Tribunes, he accumulated 74 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers, earning two All-Region accolades, as well as three All-Region selections in his career. He is remembered as a player with a good understanding of the game, a calm demeanor, and the ability to direct the defense on the field.

He then attended Saint Rose, where the school was eventually discontinued in the spring of 2024 before continuing his career at SUNY Brockport. He transferred into the school as a junior, joining the team for the Spring 2024 season, adding depth to the team’s defense. After the season, he seized the chance to play overseas in Prague, Czech Republic, with Zbraslav, as well as The Good Stick Co. 

He returned to Brockport in Spring 2025 determined to finish his career the right way, bringing a physical, vocal presence back to the defensive unit. He posted 30 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers, setting the tone with his effort, toughness, and leadership while serving as a steady voice on the field. After hanging up the cleats, he transitioned seamlessly into coaching, carrying that same intensity and lacrosse IQ to the sideline. He will work closely with the Broncos’ goalkeepers and defensive unit, focusing on development, preparation, and accountability, while contributing daily to the growth and culture of the program.
