Chris Burnett returns to his alma mater as head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach. A Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton product and 2010 New York State Division II steeplechase champion, Burnett was a two-time first-team NJCAA All-American at Delhi and held the program's 8-kilometer record for eight years. He went on to run at Wichita State, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise science, and competed in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon with a personal best of 2:18:14 as a professional for Brooks.
Most recently, Burnett spent three years coaching at Andover Central High School, leading the men's team to its first conference title in 2024 and the women's to its first in 2025.
